New York Times Bestselling author Jamie Ford is coming to Gettysburg.

Although Summer Quest has just begun, we’re excited to share the new location of the Third Annual Signature Event: the Gettysburg Library. Join us for “An Evening with Jamie Ford,” on Friday, Sept. 20. We will transform the library for you to taste delicious delights from Biggerstaff Catering, begin your holiday shopping at our silent auction, enjoy a presentation by Mr. Ford, and talk with him during a book signing. Mr. Ford is the author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and Love and Other Consolation Prizes. The VIP Experience also includes a private reception with Mr. Ford, and an autographed copy of his latest book. Advanced Tickets are required. A limited number of tickets are available for the VIP Experience. Tickets are $100 per person or $150 for the VIP Experience and can be purchased at each of our branches or at www.AdamsLibrary.org. This is a fundraiser for the most urgent needs of the Adams County Library System. Hope to see you there.

Celebrate Dad with an Honor Book

Looking for a way to show special appreciation for dad or gramps this Father’s Day? An Honor Book offers a lasting tribute to the man who taught you how to drive, cook and tell a joke. You can suggest the genre, and our staff will provide a “name plate.” Donations of $35 — $50 per book expand our collection and we’ll send a special acknowledgment to the person you are honoring this Father’s Day. It’s a great way to say, “I love you,” and contribute to the lifelong learning of residents throughout Adams County. Thank you.

Dawn Smith is the library system’s development officer.
