Fun fact: Studies show that bird song reduces anxiety and promotes relaxation. Why is that? Scientists think that over the years humans learned that birds sing when they’re safe — and stop singing when danger is near.

Well, sadly, danger is near — because birds aren’t singing like they used to. A study published last month in the journal, “Science” reports that since 1970, the bird population in North America has fallen by around 3 billion birds.
