The middle of March, we should have been enjoying the spring season entering our lives — birds chirping, flowers blooming, outdoor activities returning.

Instead, the dangerous coronavirus reached Pennsylvania. It hit every aspect of our state and our nation harder than someone can ever hit the speedbag in the YWCA fitness center. We worked to mitigate the virus and eventually had to shut down not only because the state mandated it but because it was in our members’ and childcare families’ best interest.
