Are you worried about an aging loved one? Maybe you need a break from care-giving or time to complete some tasks while knowing that your loved one is in a safe setting. Maybe you simply want to get your loved one more active with peers.

If you know of someone over 60 who has an impairment but does not require institutional care, an adult day program is a beneficial option. There are various adult day programs in the surrounding area: Transitions Healthcare offers Share and Care; The Brethren Home Community; and Menno Haven; or Golden Visions, located in Hanover. The Office for Aging can provide you with more information about these programs.

Amy Boyer Thomas is a clinician at Transitions Healthcare located at 595 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg.
