This feature began as a straight-forward article in the series “Why I Ride,” but it became something different. It started out as an article about the many benefits that can be gained through bicycling.

I had researched benefits that are attributed specifically to bicycling as exercise or transportation and had prepared to share how they related to my personal experience. It was all upbeat, all positive.
