Zion United Church of Christ on the square in Arendtsville, is holding a rummage and bake sale on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will benefit their youth's mission trip.

For more than five years, youth from churches in the Upper Adams area (Zion UCC, Trinity Lutheran, St. Paul's Lutheran, Wenksville Lutheran, Gettysburg COB, and others) have joined the Hanover Area UCC youth group to attend the annual REACH Mission Trip. This year they are traveling to Vassar, Mich., to help renovate homes for those who can not afford to, or are unable to make the necessary modifications. There are more than 40 youth and adults traveling this year. They have raised funds throughout the year, needing approximately $27,000 to cover camp and transportation costs. The REACH Mission Trip is a faith-based mission trip that provides a faith-growing, faith-building environment for youth and adults alike. REACH prides itself on "helping to develop youth and adults into transformed servants of Jesus." The impact of a REACH Mission Trip on a community is both spiritual and financial through the relationships grown and projects completed.
