Riding bikes and scooters around downtown or sitting at home playing video games is not near as fun as being a part of a community theatre. GCT continues to celebrate its 10th year here in downtown Gettysburg as a safe place for many educational, volunteer, and performing opportunities for all ages and all abilities.

Scholarships

Scholarships are now available at GCT for students ages 4-18 who are in need. The scholarships are for summer theatre day camps and weeknight theatre arts classes during the school year. For an application, email Chad@GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or call 717-334-2692.

Summer theater camps

Summer Day Camps for ages 4-18 will once again be held at GCT for Acting, Musical Theatre, Improvisation, Star Wars, Wicked, Princess Camps, Creative Dramatics, and Special Needs Theatre in June and July. Each week is different. Half Day Camps are 9am-1pm and Full Day Camps are 9am-5pm. Instructors will include Anna Kurtz, Marilyn Lopes, Bruce Moore, Karen Land, and Ann Walsh. Registration for Summer Day Camps are open online now and some camps are already full and closed.

Volunteer summer

Theater volunteer internship positions are available for ages 15-25 and those interested in volunteering should email Chad@GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or 717-334-2692.

Free after-school

program fall 2018

Applications are no available online and by mail by request for the Fall 2018 Session of GCT's Annual FREE After-School Program for youth in Grades 1st-8th Grade. Teen Mentor Positions are also available for students in high school wanting to help younger students. Theater arts classes

As always, GCT will offer theatre arts classes during the school year on a weeknight once a week for children and adults. Schedule coming soon and will be available on our website and facebook. Scholarships available.

Auditions

Auditions will be held on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. for singers of all ages 4-adults and at 7 p.m. for musicians of all ages 4-adults for GCT's annual Christmas concert series Home For The Holidays. Rehearsal schedules for all productions at GCT are created based on availability of the performers submitted on audition forms available in advance online and at the auditions. Performers are requested to come prepared with one song of their choice to perform and to please bring their calendars with them. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the audition form for them in order to audition.

Background checks

Free PA State background checks are required for anyone age 18 and above, or the parents of anyone under age 18, in order for anyone to participate as a volunteer (including cast, crew, and musicians) at GCT. Free Background Check Applications are available online and at the theatre. The GCT faculty/staff undergo these two State of PA background checks, as well as FBI Fingerprinting background checks.

Tickets are on sale for all events in 2018 and can be purchased online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org , or via phone at 717-334-2692 or in person one hour before each show time at every performance. GCT is located at 49 York St. within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg.
