In this Advent season of anticipation, the Chancel Choir of Trinity Lutheran Church will again provide an evening of inspirational Christmas music at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8. The annual cantata celebrating the birth of Christ is held in the congregation’s sanctuary at 38 North High Street, Arendtsville. The choir is under the direction of Amanda Hollabaugh, a PSU music performance graduate, and accompanied on the Eicholtz Yamaha baby grand by Ellie Vranich, Trinity’s talented pianist/organist.

The cantata is a wide assortment of Christmas–oriented melodies from 16th century carols to numerous contemporary compositions, reflecting the true meaning of Christmas. The program will include the requested favorite modern classic duet, “Mary, Do you Know?” reprised by Amanda and husband, tenor Bruce Hollabaugh. This wide-ranging concert is designed to reach all people in the area with the good news of Jesus’ coming and to provide a worshipful experience for everyone. It is free and open to all.

Though not just a social evening, the concert will provide a pleasant fellowship opportunity when light refreshments are served immediately following the music in the downstairs social room of the lighted, white-steeple church.
