It’s Municipal Election Day in Adams County and polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Angie Crouse is Director of Adams County Election and Voter Registration. She says she expects the voting process to go smoothly today with the new voting machines making their maiden run. She tells me there are two machines for each of the 49 precincts; one tabulator and one ADA machine. Angie says poll workers have been trained in operation of the new equipment and at least ten sample ballots have been transmitted by each of the machines. She says a lot hasn’t changed for Adams County voters. They will still fill out their paper ballots in the voting booth with the big difference being the ballots will be scanned with a screen shot and write-in candidates will no longer need to be tabulated by poll workers.
