During the Adam’s County Library Fun Fest today, Healthy Adams Bicycle/Pedestrian Inc. will conduct a bicycle rodeo starting at 5 p.m. for children in second through fifth grades.

After having their bicycles checked for safety and a proper fit, children will have a helmet check and learn about the rules of the road from a Pennsylvania State Police trooper. Then they will be able to navigate through three different riding courses, testing their skills for balance and control of their bicycle.

The children can earn tickets for completing each course and put their tickets in jars for prize drawings. If a child does not own a bicycle helmet, they can get one for free if they are among the early arrivals.

As children arrive at the Fun Fest with bicycles, they need to follow signs to park their bicycles at the bike corral where they will be secured, like at a coat check.
