The YWCA Gettysburg and Adams County and HACC-Gettysburg will partner to present two opportunities for community discussion this month. Both events will be held at the HACC-Gettysburg campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg.

Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m., Rukhsana Rahman will present "What Everyone Needs to Know About Islam," as part of the ongoing Time to Talk discussion series. Rahman is co-president of the YWCA board of directors and has been a radiologist at Gettysburg Hospital for 25 years. Born in London, she has lived on three continents but is proud to call Gettysburg "home." Rahman will discuss how she has incorporated the Islamic faith into her daily life, as well as her personal spiritual journey from a non-practicing to a practicing Muslim. She will address commonly asked questions about Islam and will share her experience making the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Rahman and her husband, Athar Rafiq, also oversee a foundation that sends college-level books to Africa and adopts public schools in Pakistan. This event will be held in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room.
