Adams County Winery has announced that Michael Vorauer, formerly of Lubbock, Texas-based CapRock Winery, has joined the Adams County Winery as its new winemaker. A cellar master and winemaker since 1983, Vorauer's wines have garnered 35 medals for 12 different wines in the past two years, including two Double-Gold, three Gold, Best of Show, and other prestigious awards.

In addition to his extensive winemaking and cellar master experience in the United States, Vorauer also interned in West Germany for 18 months in the late 1980s, where he became fascinated with the German technology of "sweet reserve." Upon his return to the States in 1988, Vorauer produced a Double-Gold-winning Gew rztraminer.
