The Lifelong Learning Academy, a bi-monthly program for senior citizens with curious minds, announced its offerings for June.

FilmTalk, scheduled for Friday, June 14 at 2 p.m., will feature “Lincoln at Gettysburg: How the Telegraph Spread the Word.” The film, to be shown in the Wellness Café at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village, will be followed by discussion and light refreshments.

On Friday, June 28 at 2 p.m., in the same location, Peter C. Miele, chief operating officer and director of education at the Seminary Ridge Museum, will present a talk entitled “A Short but Hot Contest: The Men who Fought on the Harrisburg Road, July 1, 1863.” His presentation will focus on a battle that took place on land now occupied by SpiriTrust. It will be followed by discussion and light refreshments.

Lifelong Learning events will pause during July and August but will resume in September on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. For more information, contact Nicole Richwine at 717-334-6204.
