Hello, it’s time to share the news of Upper Adams as summer is almost here, probably with hot/humid weather and some rains/thunderstorms. Now is a good time to drink lots of liquids and use extra caution to keep on the go. As we say “What a difference a day/week can make-healthwise, weather wise and otherwise, despite the ups and downs in this busy world. *Congratulations to Gettysburg author Traci Lower (formerly of Upper Adams) who writes under the pen name Jessica James. She was honored with third John Esten Cooke Award for Fiction which came with $1,000 prize and previously received other awards. Many of us know Traci (who many years ago helped me at the Gettysburg Times). Good luck, Traci, as a finalist in 2019 Indie Excellence Awards. She will be honored at American Library Association Conference Washington, D.C. end of June. Way to go, Traci!

*Tonight, journey to Biglerville American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary Post 262 for the Honorable Annual Flag Retirement at Legion Woods in Observance of Flag Day. Many Thanks to our own Apple Core Band, directed by Donna Kime, American Legion 262 and Ladies Auxiliary Unit 262, Biglerville, Allied Veterans of Adams County and Biglerville Hose & Truck Co. No. 1, and all patrons and participants for this wonderful program. Enjoy refreshments, fellowship. We could not do it without your help/support.

*Sunday is “Father’s Day,” bring family and friends for a delicious Breakfast Buffet (all you can eat) by Bendersville Community Fire Co. starting at 8 a.m. and attend church services of your choice and check other specials in Gettysburg Times.

*Wednesday , June 19, noon — Classmates of Biglerville High School 1955 will meet for lunch and memories at Friendly Restaurant, Gettysburg.
