Strawberry Hill announce this year’s Nature of the Battlefield series. Nature of the Battlefield is part of the summer campfire series at the Gettysburg National Military Park, hosted at the Pitzer Woods Amphitheater. All programs are open to the public, and begin at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 29, join guest speaker Jeri Jones for “Geology and the Gettysburg Campaign.” Learn how the geology of the battlefield affected the outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg.

On Friday, July 12, join Strawberry Hill naturalists for our popular “Animal Ambassadors” program. Knowledgeable staff will teach about our Ambassadors, both native to Pennsylvania and non-native, including turtles, snakes, and a barred owl.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, join guest speaker Lou Kauffman as he presents “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” Learn how the natural and agricultural resources of the area supported and sustained a massive influx of people during the Battle of Gettysburg.
