Seriously Bubba...putting food on the table? If he was that hard up maybe he could have sold his .45 or .22. Ever think of that? This guy is admittedly a convicted felon and apparently wanted to die. Sadly that hasn't happened yet, hopefully the justice system will take care of that.

Well Bubba wrong again. This scumbag has already tried the system and the system failed us.Its time for justice to be served. He took an officers life,so he wouldnot have to face the justice of his actions. If he wanted any rights then he should have waited for officerGrove to read them to him.[which he already knows them by heart] Now I understand that his family may not be to blame,But they also cant deny what a horrible thing their son and brother did. As for trying to feed his family that is as lame as someone saying [This must have some kind of accident because he was a decent person and could never do what they said he did] Hes a convicted felon , Who thought he could get away with anything.Great work David, you helped catch this slimeball for the last time.Great job by all who aided in his capture.People should know the brotherhood all law enforcement share.

Well Bubba2010, if he was putting food on the table for his family, he was going about it the wrong way wasn't he. I think a better scenerio of what happened vs. your "sneaking up on someone" is that he came upon the two scumbags, caught them in the act of poaching, was attempting to place them in cuffs (one scumbag did have a hand cuff on one hand) a struggle took place, and shots were exchanged, the scumbag shot the officer 4 times, so what was on his mind? He's hunting illegally, is illegally in possession of a firearm, shoots a police office 4 times and leaves him for dead. The only other tragedy to this story is that the scumbag didn't have the guts to end his own pathetic life!

i don't know either persons involved in this case. i do not advocate taking another mans life, no matter what the crime. i do no believe in men judging as if they where GOD, with that being said...

since everyone is calling the shooter a scum bag, and if they had their way would shoot him dead, i thank GOD we had a justice system. to protect the life of men, from barbarians such as yourselves!

the shooter's story hasn't be reported. you don't KNOW what happened. you're so blind that you don't even consider that the family of the shooter could be reading this stuff, how would you feel if this was your son? would you still be calling him a scum bag, and have a death warrant out for him?

reading your posts makes me sick. ever think about the economy? maybe he was putting food on the table, because he can't make ends meet.

one post said that this officer liked to "sneak up" on people. now you have two armed men in the woods, both in hunting mode, and someone hiding in the bushes! ever take that into consideration? use your imagination...

i don't know what the fine or punishment is for poaching, but i'm sure it's not severe enough to take the life of a man over. there has to be more to the story. what about the article? said the shooter was possibly SHOT himself! why was he shot? why did the officer open fire on this man?

maybe the officer should have followed him home instead, to obtain his address. or maybe he should have called the cops for back up. i feel both sides made mistakes, or could have made better decisions.

i don't know, and neither do you people. you talk about justice, and laws.... lol, luckily that's why we have a court system, so mad men like you people aren't out killing people based solely on your emotions!

From the location of the shooting I am guessing the officer was Officer David Grove. He just had an article in the Nov. Pa Game News. I had occasion to meet Officer Grove. One day, a friend and I were launching dummies for our dogs to retrieve in a field near Ski Liberty. The launcher was powered by .22 blanks and was quite loud. Officer Grove was in the area investigating a deer poaching case. He sneaked up on us, thinking we were shooting. It was pretty funny at the time. He apparently was not familiar with a dummy launcher when we showed it to him. Seemed like a good guy. I hope when they catch up with the scum who shot him the scum has the decency to resist, allowing the officers to administer justice in a timely manner, thereby relieving the family of a painful trial.

What can anyone say but to concur with the previous statements? My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this officer’s family. And when apprehended I do hope the perpetrator of this crime is punished to the fullest extent of the law.

To all the officers looking for this person PLEASE be very careful as he/she as shown they have no respect for the law, or for human life. One tragedy is enough. Please be careful and safe BUT CATCH THE SOB.

Rest in peace officer. To the family, my heart goes out to you and your in my family's prayers. May you find comfort in this time of sorrow.

To the scum of the bottom of the sewer who did this I hope you rot in a jail cell for the rest of your life when they catch you. I think the law should take you out and do this to you. This officer was only doing his job. NO wild game is that important to hunt out of season. You could wait like the rest of us. You don't deserve to even own a gun let alone to hunt. They will catch you and they will throw all they can at you. Your a worthless piece of . I am sorry but, I am not going to say it. Let someone else say it. What were you poaching for a deer? I am so angry with people like you. This officer was doing his job. He was a person with a career to help support his family now, you took it away. I hope the Lord will be on you for the rest of your life. Judgement day will be coming to you and your going down not up. Idiot.[censored][censored][censored]

My deepest sympathy to the family. I hope that they catch the person. I travel from New Oxford to Germantwon MD every day and I have never seen so many cop cars watching and waiting for that creep. Thanks to all the police, townships and state for their service of protecting us. I

Rest in peace. Another public figure has to go down this way is a true shame. We are injured or killed in the line of duty because of stupid people afraid to pay the consequences for their actions. I believe this guy will get everything that he is do. There is no excuse for this. Someone's family lost a loved one because over what? Poaching? [angry]
