A new building security system automatically checks visitors’ criminal backgrounds, Upper Adams School Board members learned Tuesday.

Visitors to each school must be photographed and scan their driver licenses at a self-check-in kiosk, triggering a computerized record check, Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Joe Albin said during a board committee meeting.
