In less than a month, the Fairfield-Hamiltonban Joint Parks and Recreation Commission (JPRC) garnered orders for more than the originally-planned 24 trees to plant in the community park off Bullfrog Road.

Commission member Dean Thomas, of Fairfield, called the fundraiser “a booming success” during the JPRC meeting Tuesday night. The commission’s original plan was to purchase and plant 24 trees around the park, but an application for a state TreeVitalize grant was not successful.
