Three people was injured when two vehicles collided shortly after 11 a.m. in the 1900 block of Baltimore Pike (Route 97) at Heritage Drive near U.S. Route 15.

A white Dodge SUV was making a left on a green turn arrow signal onto Heritage Drive to enter the Sheetz parking lot when it was struck in the passenger’s side by a northbound tan Ford SUV that failed to stop for a red light, according to state police.

A child was the sole passenger in the Ford, while the driver was alone in the Dodge, said police.

It appeared from the condition of the 8-year-old, the child may have been sitting in the front seat without a seat belt, according to state police.

The child, who hit the windshield during the crash, complained of neck pain and sustained cuts, said police.

The child and both drivers were transported to Gettysburg Hospital, police said.

Traffic was redirected for about 45 minutes. By noon, all lanes were open and traffic was flowing normally.
