Lecture

SPECIAL GUEST — University of Chicago Law School Professor Geoffrey R. Stone, left, was welcomed to Gettysburg College on Thursday evening (Constitution Day 2019) for his lecture, “Roe v. Wade: Past, Present and Future,” by Professor Anne Douds and President Bob Iuliano.

A prominent expert on the Supreme Court told more than 100 people attending Gettysburg College’s Sharf Memorial Lecture on Thursday evening he is convinced the current court will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, the historic 1973 decision declaring a woman’s constitutional right to decide about abortion.

Geoffrey R. Stone is Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, where he has been dean and university provost. Stone has published a dozen books on constitutional law.

It's about time! Roe is an abomination and needs to be overturned. It's a state issue anyway and should be legislated at that level, and not at the federal level.
