They've arrived
A group of wounded warriors and other riders gather upon their arrival at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Monday. Today they end their 4,000-mile cross-country bicycle ride at Virginia Beach. (B.J. Small/Gettysburg Times)

Nicolette Maroulis was one of two to pull off the road to help a fellow rider rethread the chain on her bicycle. It was somewhere between Frederick, Md., and Washington, D.C., Monday afternoon.

Maroulis then saw that up ahead, a rider on a handcycle was struggling with the slope. Without the use of his legs, his arms strained to pull himself upward on the specially-made bike.
