Volunteer Julie Falk, left, and Dr. Lisa Wolkind strike a yoga pose during the Sunday fundraiser for Adams County Community Cats (ACCC) at the Gettysburg YWCA. Free roaming felines used to breed uncontrollably in some parts of the county, but since Adams County Community Cats (ACCC) started nearly four years ago, hundreds of cats have been spayed or neutered and then released. Veterinarian Lisa Wolkind was inspired to start the organization in Bendersville after reading articles in the Gettysburg Times about the large number of feral cats. The operation has expanded to include Fairfield and Carroll Valley boroughs. For more information on the program or to volunteer to help, contact Dr. Wolkind at email@example.com.
