Kelly Matthews spent a year in Littlestown "getting my feet wet" with her shop, Zen and Now, before opening for real in Gettysburg last month.

"This is a fabulous spot," she said from behind the new counter at her store at 48 York Street.

For 33 years, her shop at 48 York Street in Gettysburg was the Wentz Stained Glass Studio, which ceased retail operations June 1. The company continues to do custom work.

The shop is small, but the goods and services Matthews and her associates provide is vast.

"We have hand-crafted jewelry and classes, tarot and astrology readings, for entertainment purposes, of course," she said. "We offer Reiki energy healing, crystals and stones, art, candles, bath and body products, all natural, of course, and locally produced whenever possible. And we sell more metaphysical items as well, like tarot cards and other things."

Other items at Zen and Now include incense and sage, natural soaps, lotions and bath salts, and dog treats.

As she settles in a bit, the store will offer workshops and events. As it is, Zen and Now will offer mini Reiki sessions, tarot and astrology readings for free every First Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and offer refreshments.

Information on Matthews new business venture can be found at her website,, by emailing her at, or calling the shop at 717-334-5588

Store hours are Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
