EARP answers township calls

Eastern Adams Regional Police (EARP) answered a variety of calls between April 9 and April 20.

April 14

10:08 p.m. — A vehicle’s driver side window was shattered overnight in the victim’s residential lot on East Locust Lane.

April 15

9:05 a.m. — An thief stole an Xbox from the Colonial Academy of New Oxford High School in February.

1:45 p.m. — Police spotted low power lines in the 700 Block of Irishtown Road after power outages became apparent. Met-Ed was notified.

2:27 p.m. — Someone opened a PayPal account in the name of resident in the 700 block of Hanover Street and made a $90 purchase through Groupon.

9:23 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle drew police to the 700 block of Hanover Street. The vehicle was disabled and awaiting a tow.

April 16

10:46 a.m. — A white truck dumping trash in the 1500 block of Hanover Street was not there when police arrive, nor was there evidence trash had been dumped.

10:01 p.m. — Police defused a disturbance in the 1000 block of Irishtown Road.

April 17

1:40 p.m. — Police were called to a domestic disturbance between a mother and daughter in the 400 block of Mount Misery Road, but the daughter had already left the scene.

5:33 p.m. — Police confronted three people promoting their lawn care business without a permit in Colonial Acres. The people were told to leave until such time as they acquired a permit.

April 18

6:59 a.m. — Police responded to a possible missing child from New York State being at a residence on Casey Drive. Police spoke with the resident who had made contact with the missing person in Maryland; police forwarded this information.

10:02 a.m. — A car was “keyed” at New Oxford High School.

5:47 p.m. — Police assisted emergency medical services (EMS) in helping a resident in distress on Kelvin Drive.

7:42 p.m. — Police confronted a dog owner on Pine Street about pet responsibilities after receiving a dog barking complaint.

April 19

1:29 a.m. — A group of young adults speaking loudly was dispersed without incident in the 200 block of Hanover Street.

7:39 a.m. — Police found a bicycle at the intersection of Curtis and Kimberly Ann drives.

9:31 a.m. — A wrench set and hammer drill were stolen from an unsecured work vehicle. The items were taken between 9 p.m. on April 18 and 5 a.m. on April 19.

April 20

10:01 a.m. — Police found no one after being called because a suspicious person was knocking on a resident’s window in the 2100 block of Storm Store Road.

12:08 p.m. — A vehicle backed into a parked vehicle in the 1300 block of Red Hill Road causing minor damage to both vehicles.

EARP lists New Oxford calls

Eastern Adams Regional Police (EARP) handled an assortment of incidents between April 9 and April 11.

April 9

5:05 p.m. — Police talked to a resident on Lincoln Way West about open burning; the woman extinguished the fire upon learning it is a violation.

April 11

7:37 a.m. — Police notified an employee in the 300 block of Commerce Street of a relative’s illness.

10:49 a.m. — Police assisted the Adams County Sheriff’s office with serving an arrest warrant on Peters Street, but the person was not home.

12:16 p.m. — Called to a landlord and tenant dispute on East George Street, police advised the parties to consult attorneys.

12:55 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of Lincoln Way West. The complainant told police three weeks earlier a woman knocked on her door and requested money, so the complainant gave her $20 before she left.
