Child endangered, say police
A Hanover man is accused of hitting a 2-year-old and a Spring Grove woman on Monday in Mount Pleasant Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Ishmael Gracia, 37, “got upset” with the toddler, dragging her “approximately six feet by the arm” and striking her in the face, about 6:50 p.m., state police alleged.
When the mother tried to intervene, Gracia is alleged to have shoved and struck her as well, police said.
Gracia was arrested and taken to the Adams County Prison, and Children and Youth Services was notified, said police.
He was charged with endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and harassment.
Court records show Gracia remains in Adams County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set May 8 at 8:15 a.m., according to a magisterial docket.
