Man tries to lure girls

A man fled on U.S. Route 30 after trying to lure children into his vehicle in Fayetteville about four miles west of the Adams County line, according to state police at Chambersburg.

A gray van or SUV stopped near two girls June 20 at 1:15 p.m., and the driver began a conversation about fishing, eventually asking them “if they wanted to go see some fish,” police said.

The girls “ran away” after they “felt he made a move to exit his vehicle,” police said.

The man “then left the area in the vehicle” but the girls “were unable to determine which direction the vehicle turned onto Route 30,” police said.

The girls were unable to provide a license plate number or other information about the vehicle, police said.

They described his speech as “mildly slurred,” police said.

The driver “was described as a heavy-set white male” who was “‘greasy’ or sweaty” and about 60 years old, police said.

He was described as bald “with sunspots on his head” and having “yellowish teeth,” and “hairy blonde arms,” police said.

He was alone in the vehicle, and no weapons were visible, police said.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident the area of Cameo and Medallion drives to contact them at 717-264-5161 and refer to incident PA19-850212.

Motorcyclist hurt

A motorcyclist received what appeared to be a “minor injury” in a crash on Bendersville-Wenksville Road, state police said.

Seth Robinson, 33, of Chambersburg, was westbound on a 2002 Honda Shadow when he was “unable to negotiate a right curve” June 21, police said.

The motorcycle “fell on its side” east of Brysonia-Wenksville Road and Robinson “slid with” it, police said.

A Biglerville ambulance took him to York Hospital after the 8:12 p.m. crash in Menallen Township about 2 ½ miles west of Bendersville, police said.
