EARP lists New Ox calls

Eastern Adams Regional Police (EARP) issued a summary of recent calls in New Oxford.

June 1

1:55 p.m. – Police ticketed a vehicle parked the wrong way in a handicap spot without authorization in Center Square.

6:18 p.m. – The windshield of a 1998 Ford Explorer was broken June 1 between 3:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. behind 14 W. High St. The owner had no insurance for glass breakage.

June 2

9 a.m. – A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of South Water Street proved to be a dispute between a parent and child regarding discipline. Police spoke with both parties.

5:19 p.m. – Police returned property found in Center Square to its owner.

10:59 p.m. – Juveniles overturning trash cans along West High Street were not located. Police saw the cans.

June 3

9:17 p.m. – Police removed a barbecue that was dumped on railroad tracks in the 100 block of West High Street.

5:40 p.m. – Police defused a domestic disturbance in the first block of Commerce Street.

June 5

7:18 a.m. – A supposedly reckless driver on York Road turned out to have mechanical probelems. Police stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of Lincoln Way West. The driver was taking it to a repair shop.

2:15 p.m. – Someone used the identity of a resident of the 400 block of Lincoln Way West to open a Verizon account. The complainant notified Verizon. Police recommended credit agencies be notified too.

6:44 p.m. – A resident of the 100 block of Lincoln Way East said a license plate was missing since June 2.

June 6

Noon – Police took custody of a bicycle found in the 100 block of West High Street near the railroad tracks. The bike can be claimed at the police station with proof of ownership.

June 7

4:43 a.m. – A southbound vehicle was towed after it struck a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Carlisle Street.

3 p.m. – Police held a dog found in the 100 block of South Orange Street. The owner retrieved the pet.

3:24 p.m. – Police returned property found on Center Square to its owner.

June 8

8:15 a.m. – A northbound vehicle received minor damage when sideswiped by a vehicle that did not stop in the 100 block of Hanover Street.

June 9

7 a.m. – Police returned property found in the 200 block of Lincoln Way West to its owner.

9:48 p.m. – An unidentified vehicle hit a sign in the first block of Lincoln Way East. Police removed the pedestrian sign from the road.

June 10

8:51 a.m. – A resident was in medical distress in the first block of Commerce Street. Police transported the resident for treatment.

9:27 a.m. – reckless driving, North Washington Street and Penn Hall Drive

10:01 a.m. – stolen license plate, 100 block, West Street

2:39 p.m. – well-being check, Barlow and North Stratton streets

4:39 p.m. – crash with injury, 300 block, Buford Avenue

6:19 p.m. – fight, 200 block, Steinwehr Avenue

7:35 p.m. – lost pet, West Lincoln Avenue and Washington Street

6:26 p.m. – disturbance, loud noise, first block, North Washington Street

8:45 p.m. – hit-and-run crash, first block, East High Street

10:50 p.m. – driving under the influence, drug violation, Mayor and Dobbin alleys

9:39 a.m. – domestic disturbance with weapon, 200 block, South Franklin Street

11 a.m. – assist another agency, 100 block, York Street

11:41 a.m. – parking complaint, first block, York Street

11:47 a.m. – mental health incident, 200 block, South Franklin Street

1:35 p.m. – escort, 700 block Baltimore Street

4:47 p.m. – domestic disturbance, first block, North Fifth Street

5:45 p.m. – warrant, first bock, Breckenridge Street

8:01 p.m. – reckless driving, York and Sixth streets

9:08 p.m. – 9-1-1 hang-up, 700 block of Highland Avenue

Gettysburg police also made 92 traffic stops between May 20 and May 26, and devoted time to completing investigations and appearing in court.
