EARP answers township calls

Eastern and Adams Regional Police (EARP) answered a variety of calls between May 13 and May 20.

May 13

4:29 a.m. — Several work tools valued at over $2,000 were stolen from an unsecured truck on Birch Lane between 9 p.m. May 12 and 4:20 a.m. May 13. Two battery operated drills, a battery operated grinder, a large Hilti hammer drill and a bag of miscellaneous tools were taken.

7:20 a.m. — There were no injuries in a crash at the intersection of Red Hill and Mount Misery roads.

3:04 p.m. — Police transported a resident in medical distress to the hospital from the 100 block of Katelyn Drive.

5:18 p.m. — Police defused a custody dispute in the 1000 block of Irishtown Road.

May 14

3:45 p.m. — A victim of harassment via Snapchat in the 900 block of Hanover Street was advised to block the harasser and submit a complaint to Snapchat.

May 15

1:30 p.m. — A case of fraud was referred to the FBI. Someone contacted a 600-block Harmony Drive resident informing them they won $2.2 million in the Publisher Clearance House contest. The complainant was told to cash a $10 check and send a $20,000 check to a resident in Texas to claim the prize. The check was held by the First State Bank after a previous incident.

4:40 p.m. — A car was rear ended in traffic in the 2000 block of Carlisle Pike. Both vehicles involved sustained minor damage.

8:52 p.m. — Police are investigating a disorderly conduct incident in the 200 block of Lincoln Way East. One of the vehicles left the scene prior to police arrival.

May 16

8 a.m. — Police removed a trampoline from on the road in the 1500 block of Hanover Street.

9:23 p.m. — Corey Gartrell, 22, of McSherrystown, was cited for suspected marijuana possession at the intersection of Red Hill Road and Carlisle Pike.

May 17

7:18 a.m. — Police returned a dog to its residence on Chinkapin Drive.

3:54 p.m. — Police assisted a resident in medial distress in the 4800 block of York Road.

May 18

4:39 a.m. — A vehicle was towed from the 400 block of Berlin Road after striking several mailboxes, running into a ditch and hitting a CenturyLink utility pole.

10:02 p.m. — A supposedly missing woman later returned home safely.

May 20

12:24 a.m. — After someone knocked on the door of a residence in the 400 block of Mount Misery Road police searched the area but found no one.

9:02 a.m. — A resident was treated by emergency medical services (EMS) in the 100 block of Liberty Drive.

11:03 a.m. — Police spoke with a woman in the 1000 block of Kohler Mill Road after a non-active domestic dispute.

11:10 a.m. — Police issued a warning to a driver in the 1600 block of Carlisle Pike for reckless driving.

EARP lists New Oxford calls

Eastern Adams Regional Police (EARP) handled an assortment of incidents between May 13 and May 20.

May 13

8:26 a.m. — Work tools valued at $1,550 were stolen from an unsecured truck between May 12 and May 13 at 8:20 a.m in the 100 block of Kohler Mill Road.

8:35 p.m. — Police defused a disturbance in the 100 block of South Orange Street.

11:12 p.m. — A vehicle was towed from the first block of Lincoln Way East.

May 14

2:44 a.m. — Police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at the intersection of Commerce Street and Lincoln Way East.

3:07 p.m. — A person from the 200 block of East High Street found their credit card was fraudulently used to purchase goods for almost $200 at the Hanover Walmart.

3:30 p.m. — A woman accused of filing a false police report following an auto crash at the intersection of Hanover and High streets, was arrested.

May 15

10 a.m. — A case of fraud in the 200 block of Lincoln Way East was referred to the FBI. A store employee was told by an unknown male over the phone that payment was required for a camera system. The employee wired five payments of $1,005 per the man’s instructions to a bank in Mexico. Three payments were received by the unknown person before the other two were canceled.

May 16

2:27 p.m. — A driver moved his vehicle after a complaint of a post office vehicle being blocked.

May 17

3:30 p.m. — Police assisted Children and Youth with an investigation in the 100 block of South Orange Street.

May 18

10:07 p.m. — Two vehicles were towed from a crash involving three vehicles in the 100 block of Hanover Street. One vehicle slid into a parked vehicle due to gravel in the roadway, which caused the struck vehicle to slide into a third vehicle.

6:17 p.m. — Police found no signs of littering an unknown person supposedly threw trash out of a window.

May 19

2:11 p.m. — A vehicle struck a parked car and damaged the driver’s side door and mirror in the 200 block of Lincoln Way East between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

4:45 p.m. — Police returned a dog to a resident in the 200 block of West High Street.

May 20

9:40 p.m. — Police provided crowd and traffic control while the fire department extinguished a vehicle fire in the first block of Lincoln Way East.
