Cumberland lists calls

Cumberland Township Police said they responded to 295 complaints in January. Of those complaints there were: eight psych/suicide calls; five disturbances; four assaults/harassments; six domestic disputes; eight suspicious activities; 13 alarms; three medical emergencies; three 9-1-1 hangups; one wanted person; one drug activity; six well-being checks; two shots fired; two frauds; one sexual assault; 28 followup investigations; and 13 school resource officer calls. There were 65 walk-in complaints.

Police made 64 traffic stops; 46 traffic-related arrests; conducted 16 targeted enforcements; engaged in 225 field contacts; made 12 criminal arrests; investigated 17 criminal incidents; conducted 518 business checks; and responded to nine traffic wrecks.

EARP responds to incidents

Eastern Adams Regional Police responded to the following calls in Oxford Township from Feb. 19 to 28.

Feb. 19

4:23 a.m. — A deer ran across the road in the 1600 block of Irishtown Road and hit a vehicle, which sustained minor damage.

9:52 a.m. — A 17-year-old female New Oxford High School student was cited for drug possession and use.

3 p.m. — Three people were soliciting for a charity without a permit from the township in the area of Carlisle Pike and York Road.

3:18 p.m. — Police assisted Children and Youth Services in the 1300 block of Red Hill Road with a home visit.

4:28 p.m.- A 70-year-old woman died from natural causes at the Brethren Home.

Feb. 20

7:50 a.m. — A driver lost control and his vehicle crashed into a mailbox and pole in the 100 block of Seven Hundred Road. There were no injuries; the vehicle sustained moderate damage.

9:30 a.m. — Police notified Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) that snowy conditions reduced Hanover Street to one passable lane.

9:52 a.m. — A resident was in medical distress in the first block of Peace Court. By the time police arrived, emergency medical services (EMS) was treating the patient.

10:46 a.m. — A resident fell off a ladder in the 600 block of Kohler Mill Road. Upon arrival, EMS were already treating the patient.

11:05 a.m. — A tractor trailer became disabled in the 2600 block of Carlisle Pike. Police notified PennDOT to plow the road.

11:45 a.m. — Several vehicles were disabled on the hill in the 1200 block of Red Hill Road. Police directed cars back down the hill and notified the township to treat the road.

Feb. 21

8:19 a.m. — A vehicle was disabled at York Road and Lincoln Street. Police conducted traffic control until the tow truck arrived.

10:10 a.m. — A suspicious person was supposedly going door-to-door asking for entrance to examine electric meters in the 100 block of Oak Drive. Police searched the area with negative results.

12:58 p.m. — A resident said someone attempted to break into his vehicle in the 1000 block of Irishtown Road between 10 p.m. the night before and 12:58 p.m. that day. The vehicle sustained minor damage to its upper window frame but entry was not successful.

Feb. 22

11:18 a.m. — Medication was found to be missing at the Brethren Home. An internal investigation is being conducted.

Feb. 23

9:46 a.m. — A 2015 VW Passat was repossessed in the 200 block of Katelyn Drive.

10:54 a.m. — A supposedly suspicious person walking in and out of New Oxford Middle School turned out to be a grandfather there to watch his grandson play basketball.

Feb. 24

4:25 p.m. — A resident was in medical distress at the Brethren Home and taken to York Hospital for treatment.

8 p.m. — An alarm sounded in the 1500 block of Irishtown Road. Police checked the property and found it to be secure.

Feb. 25

12:38 a.m. — Wind blew a trampoline into two vehicles in the first block of Oak Drive.

3:23 a.m. — A tree fell on the road in the first block of Red Hill Road. Police notified the township road crew to remove the tree and provided traffic control in the meantime.

7:48 a.m. — Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Red Hill Road and Hanover Street. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Feb. 26

1:12 p.m. — A resident complained about an internet sale’s payment in the 100 block of Drummer Drive. Police advised this is a civil issue.

4:15 p.m. — There was a disturbance at Suzi Suds in the 300 block of Lincoln Way East. When police arrived, the parties had already gone.

Feb. 27

3:28 p.m. — Three vehicles collided when one merged onto York Road in the 5900 block. Two vehicles were towed by TNT Towing.

5:31 p.m. — A parking dispute occurred in the 300 block of Lincoln Way East. Upon police arrival, the vehicle had left the scene.

Feb. 28

12:05 p.m. — A student of New Oxford High School had counterfeit money. Police are investigating.
