Gun Club crash hurts 2
One patient was transported by helicopter Friday after a crash involving an SUV and a car at Gun Club and East Berlin roads, Heidlersburg Deputy Fire Chief Lance Crouse said.
STAT MedEvac flew a woman to York Hospital after firefighters extricated her from an SUV that struck a utility pole and received “heavy” front-end damage, he said.
An occupant of the other vehicle “received a fair amount of glass” when an exterior mirror was knocked off, and was transported by ground ambulance to Gettysburg Hospital, Crouse said. No one needed to be extricated from the car, he said.
Fire police from several Adams County companies controlled traffic near the scene, Crouse said. East Berlin (Pa. Route 234) was closed at U.S. Route 15, about a half-mile west of the scene, he said. The crash occurred about 7 ½ miles west of East Berlin.
Authorities were dispatched just after 1 p.m. and cleared the scene just before 2:30 p.m., Crouse said.
Car theft charged
A man “admitted to stealing” a car stopped Thursday on U.S. Route 15 in Tyrone Township, state police alleged in a news release.
One felony count each of theft and receiving stolen property were filed Thursday against Mark Kilchewski Jr., 37, of Gettysburg, according to a magisterial docket.
He was held at Adams County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, according to the docket, which also listed charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use, possessing drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, a lane violation, exceeding the speed limit by 16 mph, careless driving, and a seatbelt violation.
The stop occurred in the Heidlersburg area after an erratic driver was reported at 12:05 a.m., according to the release.
“During the investigation the rear window was smashed out” of the 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, according to the release, which lists a 31-year-old Carlisle man as the victim.
Injured on Route 94
A York Springs man was injured when a pickup truck struck a utility Wednesday on Carlisle Pike (Pa. Route 94) in Reading Township, state police said.
A York Springs ambulance transported Todd West, 41, to WellSpan York Hospital, police said.
The crash involving a 2005 Ford F150 occurred at 3:04 p.m., police said.
A tractor-trailer struck an embankment along U.S. Route 15 in Latimore Township after swerving to avoid a vehicle that changed lanes in front of it, state police said.
No injuries occurred as a result of Tuesday’s 1:39 p.m. crash at Bonners Hill Road near York Springs, police said.
A 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage pulled onto Route 15 from the west, stopped, and “then turned left into the right, northbound lane of travel in front of” the 1998 International Eagle, police said. The latter received “minor undercarriage damage” and the former stopped nearby, police said.
Police did not release either driver’s name.
