Vehicle hits roof
The roof of Crabbs Tropical Treat, 2279 Carlisle Pike near Hanover was damaged earlier this month.
While backing up in the parking lot, a vehicle “struck the drive-in roof, causing the roof to shift,” state police said. The vehicle then fled, said police.
Neon lights were damaged as well in the incident, which was reported to authorities on March 9 at 11:36 a.m., police said.
Deer hits 2 vehicles
A deer damaged two vehicle on Swift Run Road in a single incident.
The deer ran into the front of one vehicle, “became airborne,” and struck the second vehicle , said state police.
No people were injured in the March 8 incident at 6:27 a.m. east of Sibert Road about two miles east of Hunterstown, police said.
The animal first struck a westbound 2002 Nissan Sentra driven by Yvonne Sease, 54, of New Oxford, and then a 2009 Ford Escape driven by Monica Stepler, 65, of Arendtsville, police said.
Cited after crash
A driver was charged after a March 8 crash at the U.S. Route 15 interchange with Carlisle Pike (Pa. Route 94).
Sara Hudock, 23, of Arlington, Va. was driving a 2001 Cadillac CTS that turned left onto the southbound on-ramp and was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Jeffrey Wagner, 59, of Mount Holly Springs, state police said. The impact pushed the Equinox into a 2006 Ford Five Hundred driven by Sarah Miller, 18, of Hanover, police said.
Wagner suffered a possible injury but was not transported by ambulance, police said.
Hudock was charged with a left turn violation after the 2:56 p.m. incident in Huntington Township, police said.
All three vehicles were towed, police said.
Retail theft charged
A Bendersville woman was charged with retail theft at a Gettyburg grocery store.
Janice Markel, 69, is accused of failing “to ring items up at the self-checkout lane” at Giant Food Sotre, 44 Natural Springs Road, on March 8 at 9:25 a.m., state police said.
The items were valued at $111.27, police said.
