Car stolen, man jailed

A man was arrested after the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen Wednesday.

Officers “had occasion to run a registration check on a silver Honda Civic in the area of Washington and Chambersburg” streets about 3:15 p.m., according to Gettysburg Police Chief Robert Glenny.

“Investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen form a parking garage in the City of York” the previous evening, Glenny said.

The driver, William T. Peterson, 21, of York County, “was charged with unauthorized use of an auto and receiving stolen property” and taken to Adams County Prison, said Glenny.
