Lois S. Stultz, 73, 270 Stultz Road, Fairfield, died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at her home.
She was born Sept. 28, 1940 in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Jessie Swisher Sanders. Lois is survived by her husband of 53 years Lloyd K. Stultz.
Mrs. Stultz was an active member of the Iron Springs Brethren in Christ Church. She graduated at the top of her class from Fairfield High School. She then was employed for many years at the Waynesboro Hospital as a secretary. Later she worked for Rombins Nest on Main Street in Fairfield and then at El Vista Orchards. For a time she worked part-time at Middle Creek Nursery and recently at Comfort Care in Fairfield. She loved to cook, clean and garden. But most importantly Lois loved caring for the people close to her.
In addition to her husband Lois is survived by a daughter, Karen Wilson and her husband Jeffrey of Fairfield; a son, Kevin Stultz and his wife Cheri of Gettysburg; a granddaughter, Kristen Wagner and her husband Ridge of State College, Pa.; three step-grandchildren, Brianna Wilson, Brooke Wilson, Micah Wilson; two sisters, Caroline Flohr and her husband Richard of Fairfield, Barbara Cool and her husband James of Fairfield; two brothers, Lawrence Sanders and his wife Esther of Biglerville, James Sanders and his wife Jean of Emmitsburg, Md., and a sister-in-law, Helen Sanders of Fairfield. Lois was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Elaine Stultz and a brother, Jesse Sanders.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. from Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Rev. Terry Hoke and Rev. Doug Lichty officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Iron Springs Brethren in Christ Church, PO Box 91, Fairfield, PA 17320.
