Information dated

Editor, Gettysburg Times,

I was amused by the story in today’s Times (June 25) announcing that the Coleman Road bridge over the Western Maryland Railroad in Straban Township is being replaced.

The Western Maryland ceased existence in the 1980s. Since that time, the railroad referred to has been owned and operated by CSX Transportation. Penn DOT, which was apparently the source of the story, might want to update their information, considering that the designation “Western Maryland Railroad” is now more than 30 years out of date.
