Bag ban socialist attack

Editor, Gettysburg Times,

So some local activists approach the Gettysburg Council trying to eliminate plastic bags in town and then proceed to pepper the Times with editorials. The prime focus of their wrath appears to be Kennie’s Market of all places. Wow. This is a local supermarket that purposefully built a relatively new store right in the middle of town. Because of this construction decision, local folks do not need to drive out of the township to acquire basic necessities. The savings in fuel alone (by buying local) far outweighs the cost of these super cheap plastic bags. Perhaps these activists need to consider all environmental impacts before mounting a socialist attack on local businesses. These retailers already have enough obstacles to overcome.
