Avoid hateful names

Editor, Gettysburg Times,

Fred Fisher has a way with words. He expresses himself clearly and intelligently. His last letter to the Times is no different. But this letter is so clear and so intelligent that he crosses a boundary of common kindness. I know several folks who support The Donald and they are not SOBs; a little misguided maybe but fine people otherwise.

When in this country will we be able to disagree with each other but not call each other hateful names? In my view, Fred would be wise to quote not Oppenheimer but another famous person who said “Love One Another as I have loved thee.”

Edward J. Thompson,

Gettysburg
