QUITE A CAREER — Gettysburg College’s Aubrey Shenk looks on during an indoor track meet in January. Shenk, who has served as head coach for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs for the last 10 years, is retiring at the conclusion of cross country season. Shenk has coached at Gettysburg for 35 years.

After a 35-year run at Gettysburg College, including the last 10 as the head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs, Aubrey Shenk is putting down his clipboard and stopwatch following the 2019 cross country season.

Shenk announced his decision to the student-athletes from all of his teams over the weekend. The veteran coach mulled over the decision for a long time and ultimately chose to end his tenure in the same manner he started it in the 1980s alongside the cross country teams.
