After needing a dozen innings to dispatch the Black Sox in their opener on Sunday, the Dodgers completed a sweep with a five-inning rout at Oakside Community Park.

Deadlocked at 2-2 in the 12th, Littlestown scored when Sam Wertz doubled and later came home on an error. Justin Keith’s groundout plated Trent Copenhaver with the second run of the inning and Calvin Benevento closed out the victory.

Wertz, who was 2-for-5 in the opener, clubbed three hits and picked up five RBI in Game 2. Included in his big game was a double and a home run.

Jacob Crawmer and Copenhaver tacked on two hits apiece to back Sam Zeigler, who dealt a two-hit shoutout. Zeigler struck out six and walked one batter.

Joe Murren singled three times in Game 1 and Crawmer added two hits to his total.

For Biglerville, Brandon Miller went deep while Noah Ayers, Tyler Kime, Tanner Byers and Paul Asper tallied two knocks apiece in the opener.

Brendan Delridge took a no-decision despite pitching nine innings of two-run ball, piling up eight strikeouts.

The Pirates pounded out 13 hits in both ends of Sunday’s twinbill sweep of the Bulldogs. Chris Schachle went a combined 5-for-5 with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored to pace the first-place Pirates. Robert Rohrbaugh recorded two hits in each game, including a home run in the nightcap.

Zach Ketterman struck out seven in five innings of work in the opener while also going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Dillon Gebler tripled and finished with three RBI to match his three runs scored.

Michael Tempel, who collected five hits on the day, was 3-for-4 in Game 2, which saw Alex DeHaas whiff 10 while twirling a three-hitter.
