THROW IT DOWN — New Oxford’s Abdul Janneh prepares to dunk the ball during a game against Bermudian Springs in the regular season. Janneh, who went over the 1,000-point score plateau, was named the YAIAA Division 1 player of the year by league head coaches. Littlestown’s Jayden Weishaar was the top player in Division 3.

Be it on the gridiron or the hardwood, Abdul Janneh and Brayden Long have joined forces to provide New Oxford fans with plenty to remember this year.

The senior Colonials were a record-setting combination in football season when Long smashed a slew of school and county passing records, with his longtime pal Janneh on the receiving end. Both Long (Slippery Rock) and Janneh (Duquesne) will continue their football careers on the collegiate level, but they were plenty busy this winter starring for the Ox basketball team that embarked on an historic voyage.
