Delone Catholic’s Isaac Almoney took down a substantial school record with a 158-foot, nine-inch heave of the discus that topped Brian Monahan’s mark from 2012.

The Squire boys weren’t quite able to pull out a win over Hanover, though. Zack Reck had a strong day for the Nighthawks, cashing in for a first in the 110 hurdles (16.3), the 300 hurdles (43.6) and the high jump (5-4). The ‘Hawks distance team also put up big points in the victory.

On the girls’ side, Maddie Sieg and Molly Raville popped off huge throws in the javelin for PRs. Sieg’s went 124 feet, nine inches. Raville’s was a 120-4. Raville’s discus toss, a 99-6 for first, was also a personal best. Lauren Trummer hit a PR with a 16-9.5 long jump.

Kirsten Dell kept the Thunderbolts off the base paths and was quick to get around them herself during the Colonials surprising blowout on Thursday.

Dell pitched a complete game, allowing only three runs on eight hits and two walks. She also scored four runs and drove in four more while clubbing three doubles in a four hit performance. Julie Hess also picked up four hits. Mallory Topper and Mikayla Hagerman slammed homers and Kayla Baublitz had three base knocks, including a pair of doubles. Jordan Wolf also had four RBI with a double.

The Bolts were led by Kacie Frock, who drove home two runs on a homer. Caitlin Eader hit two doubles and Bailey Smith had a pair of hits as well.

Emily Delacruz knocked home seven runs with a three-double performance as the Warriors clocked Biglerville on Thursday.

Jenna Brasee went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a double and a triple. She scored all four times while driving home three. From the pitcher’s circle she allowed only two hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Gettysburg’s Hayley Cisney went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored. Rachel Keller scored four times and Abby Hurst had two hits, both singles.

Ryleigh Bolyard powered her way to four RBI, five runs and three doubles and Natalie Holmes knocked in three more runs on three hits in the Green Knights mercy-rule win over York Suburban on Thursday.

Fairfield also got three-hit performances from Ashley Roberts and Braidan Wastler. Roberts and Haley Bolin each hit a double and a triple in the game. Bolin drove home two and Roberts and Waster scored three apiece.

Kira Weikert picked up the win in the pitching circle. Cailin Swam pitched three innings of strong relief, allowing only one run on one hit.

The Mustangs punched past Central York with a four-run seventh to pick up a come-from-behind win on the road on Wednesday.

Jordyn Resetar hit a home run while driving home two runs in a three-hit performance. Kayln Thacker was a home run away from the cycle, Ryleigh Sprague drove home two runs and Mackenzie Maher had two hits and an RBI to fuel the Mustang offense.

Emalee Reed entered in relief and picked up the victory, pitching five innings while allowing six hits and three walks. Three of four runs against her were earned.

The Green Knights out-hit and out-fielded the Thunderbolts, but walks caught up to them in a road defeat on Thursday.

Austin Kipple and Jacob Thomas drove home two runs apiece without a hit for the Bolts. Jakob Lane scored three runs, reaching on a double, a triple and a walk. Brady Arndt picked up the victory for the Littlestown, allowing three runs on six hits in 4.2 innings. TJ Huffman got the save, allowing another two runs, one earned, in the final 2.1 innings.

The Knights got two-hit days from Austin Riley, Colton Devilbiss and Zach Koons. Devilbiss blasted a pair of doubles while knocking home three runs. Koons, Jonas Holz and Riley also doubled.

Zach Ketterman allowed one hit over three innings and the Warriors piled on with three straight five-run frames to make quick work of the Bobcats on Thursday.

Dylan Ed and Marshall Mott each had three-hit performances. Ed knocked a double and drove in three, and Mott scored three runs. Simeon Davis popped two doubles and scored three runs. Josh Topper picked up three RBI on a double and a triple. Colin Campbell and Asher Baddick had two RBI apiece.

Ben Bretzman topped out his pitch limit as he retired the final out in the Canners seventh straight victory to start the season on Thursday.

Bretzman struck out 11 while walking only two in the Canners’ dominant victory over Big Spring. He pitched a shutout until the seventh.

Leadoff man Logan Brewer led a host of multi-hit batters with three knocks, including a double. Connor Orner, Nicholas Wright, Kyle Gillingham and Aaron Stremmel all picked up two hits apiece. Jeremy Johnson tripled, walked twice and nabbed three RBI in the contest. Tyler Weikert reached all four times, with a single and three walks.

The Colonials picked up their second win of the season with a sweep of Eastern York on Thursday. The scores were 25-14, 25-12, 25-17.

Matt Faust dished out 21 assists, using Sergio Lua as his main option. Lua finished with eight kills to Chase Nell’s six and Jaren Rex’s four. Thomas Haugh had a pair of blocks. Nell and Cameron Krebs tied for the team lead in aces with three and Krebs pulled up seven digs to lead his squad.
