A KILLER FINALE — South Western senior Ali St. Rose holds a ball presented to her by teammates and coaches following Tuesday’s District 3 Class 4A quarterfinal match against Central Dauphin. St. Rose recorded her 999th career kill to set a new school record.

The South Western volleyball team put together a terrific showing, but untimely errors and a strong closing performance from Central Dauphin dispatched the Mustangs in straight sets, 25-20, 25-20, and 25-17, in a District 3 Class 4A quarterfinal match on Tuesday night at Central York High School.

The Mustangs played extremely well on defense and had a steady attack but were unable to survive several late-set scoring runs by the Rams. Central Dauphin (14-3) used an efficient offensive attack to put together points when it needed to in order to close the door in all three sets.
