Backing up their outstanding seasons, the Gettysburg boys’ and girls’ cross country teams proved that they are among the best in the YAIAA. At the league championships, held on Gettysburg’s home course on Tuesday afternoon, the Warrior boys placed second to perennial juggernaut York Suburban, while the girls placed fourth behind powerhouses Dallastown, Northeastern and Red Lion.

During the regular season, York Suburban was the only team to beat the Warrior boys. The Trojans won 23-32 to clinch the division two weeks ago, and Gettysburg was even closer on Tuesday. Suburban won with 74 points, with the Warriors just 14 points back. Kennard-Dale, following its outstanding season, place third (106).
