Before retiring to Gettysburg in 2018, I spent 44 years in parish ministry, serving congregations in Missouri and Nebraska. I was always looking for good sermon illustrations, with particular attention to anything that might be helpful at Easter.

While I have not missed the pressure of writing a sermon every week, I almost wish I was going to be in a pulpit this Easter to share a story from Professor James Pula’s account of 11th Corps at Gettysburg.
