The week of Jan. 24 was National School Choice Week, and the COVID-19 pandemic has brought more intensity to conversations about public education and family choice.

Parents and caregivers have become even more involved and vocal about their children’s education, and local school leaders and educators are making great efforts to provide a variety of options for families and students in order to keep our communities safe and keep children learning.

Christine Miller is the executive director of Vida Charter School.
