On a blustery but beautiful Nov. 19, approximately 1,000 individuals gathered in Gettysburg National Cemetery for the 158th commemoration of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and the dedication of the national cemetery.

Sponsored by the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, in conjunction with Gettysburg National Military Park, the Gettysburg Foundation, and Gettysburg College, this year’s Dedication Day ceremony was a welcome return to the in-person program following a virtual 2020 commemoration due to the pandemic.

Dr. Ashley Whitehead Luskey is a board member of the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania and is the assistant directory of the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College.
