Land Conservancy Month

“Since both of the kids are in Scouts and my husband and I are their troop leaders, we spend a lot of time outside both as a family and for Scout activities. Both kids have done Scout projects that focus on protecting our earth. Having so much protected land so close to our home makes it so easy to get out and learn about the world around us. My son’s troop has been taking hikes through the battlefield, and my daughter’s troop is working on several gardening projects at the Rec Park. As a family we visit the covered bridge throughout the year to fish and play in the stream.”—Siri Phelps The Land Conservancy of Adams County celebrates Land Conservancy Month his year by emphasizing the importance of passing on a love for our rural lands and character. You can help protect Adams County’s rural lands by bidding on art donated to the conservancy’s annual art auction, which runs through April 21. More information at PreserveAdams.org.
