Kathy Gaskin

Healthy Adams County grew out of an organization called the Adams County Council of Community Services that had been meeting in our county for decades. They were called upon by administrators at the Gettysburg Hospital to work with them to create a community health partnership for Adams County and for a brief time that entity was called the Adams County Partnership for Community Health.

In 2003, the name was changed to Healthy Adams County. I have had the pleasure of being the director of this organization since 2006. During this column and next months column my hope is to tell you about the organization, it’s task forces and committees and opportunities that are available to the community because of the work of those task forces and committees. My second hope is that by reading these columns some of you might be interested in joining us and working on one or a couple of those task forces and committees.

Kathy Gaskin is the executive director of Healthy Adams County.
