Many may know or be someone who suffers from heart disease, lung disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, obesity, or a host of other chronic diseases.

According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, six in 10 adults in the United States have at least one chronic disease, and four in 10 adults have two or more. Chronic diseases develop over a period of time or are of frequent recurrence. Chronic diseases are progressive, debilitating, and affect individuals both physically and mentally.
