As we settle into the New Year, the Adams County Women’s Cancer Coalition (ACWCC) would like to encourage you to continue your New Year resolutions and look forward to a healthy and happy 2020. Whether your resolution is to lose weight, eat better, or get off the couch more, all these things can impact your general wellbeing and help in reducing your cancer risk.

Formerly the Adams County Breast Cancer Coalition under Healthy Adams County, the Adams County Women’s Cancer Coalition seeks to connect with more women in our community to educate and promote screening for female cancers. Over that last 28 years the Adams County Breast Cancer Coalition has helped thousands of Adams County women through educational events and our Free Mammogram Program. Breast cancer remains the most common female cancer diagnosed and discussed in most households. Our goals are to increase the knowledge and outreach for all female cancers such as ovarian, cervical, and uterine.

Michelle Shriner, RN, BSN, OCN, CBCN, is chair of the Adams County Women’s Cancer Coalition, an affiliate of Healthy Adams County and the oncology nurse navigator at the WellSpan Adams Cancer Center. She can be reached at (717)339-2657.
