Sleep sack

SAFE SLEEP — New parents, Aaron and Lauren Stafford, watch as WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital Maternity Nurse Jessica Schabdach wraps their newborn daughter in a sleep sack, part of an infant safe sleep initiative shared with families thanks to grant funding from the Gettysburg Hospital Foundation.

Responding to the need to address important health initiatives in the community, the Gettysburg Hospital Foundation will provide $146,424 in grant funding for the 2021 fiscal year to support Healthy Adams County and select services of WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.

The essential funding will support efforts that target food insecurity and access to fresh fruits and vegetables, important children’s health and safety measures that include safe sleep for newborns, mental health and mindfulness programming for the community, and resources to assist nursing and clinical services.
